If you are really interested in running frequently then get a NASA and Proautosports membership and then you should have more options for events. Unfortunately AZ is going through some changes right now that are not ideal. We are losing some tracks and some of Firebird is still yet to be determined but it does look like West is now being operated by Bondurant and will still get used!
It really sucks because 3 years ago we had the 3 layouts at Firebird, AMP looked like a good candidate (but never materialized due to sound restrictions), Inde, and PIR which was a blast. So 6 tracks in AZ was pretty awesome. Now we are down to Firebird West and Inde. AMP does track days, but if you own a S2000 it better be stock intake and exhaust as you wont pass sound restrictions otherwise.
All that said though, we are now more like the rest of the country that has to drive 3+hrs one way to a race track. I am def aiming to go to Inde in the fall, and Chuckwalla as well in the fall. Chuckwalla in CA looks awesome!
Firebird and all its courses have been fun and its great because they are so close and easy, but they are just over sized go kart tracks. After driving on all of them recently I personally am ready to start spending my time and money on driving better and what I call real tracks (Inde and Chuckwalla).

Thanks for the info, I actually wasn't aware of that situation (besides firebird). Hopefully it will start returning soon! 
The only way I see Inde or Chuckwalla being reasonable is if I get a hotel room nearby and spend at least 2 days on the track. 6+ hours of driving for a single event (day) just isn't feasible in my opinion.
