2013 Lake Roosevelt Drive
It's time for our first drive of the year!
I'm organizing the 2013 Lake Roosevelt Drive from Mesa to Globe and back. Please sign up as this will be a leisurely drive through some scenic roads of arizona. We will keep it relaxed, enjoy the views, and have some fun driving! Depending on the number of drivers participating, we may break up into small groups for ease and safety of driving through the mountains. We will stop for gas and food in Globe, AZ.
Date: Saturday, March 23rd!
Start Location: Paradise Bakery on SW corner of Signal Butte and Baseline Rd. (exit off Signal Butte going east on Highway 60) - Area Map of Paradise Bakery Location.
Meet Time: 9:00 a.m.
Start Drive: 10:00 a.m. (will start drive promptly at this time).
Driving Route: East of Phoenix/Mesa on US 60, past Gold Canyon, Queen Valley and Top of the World to Globe. Then west on AZ 188, past Roosevelt Lake and Tonto Basin to Punkin Center to Beeline Highway (AZ 87), and southbound back through Old Bush Hwy. and Usery Pass Rd. - approx. 180 miles/4-hour drive time (see map below).
Road Conditions: Mild corners and terrain on mountain road most of the way. This is cruising at its best. Open road, not much traffic.
Previous Years Map vs. 2013 Drive Map (slight change in that we will exit off Hwy 87 and drive to our starting point through Old Bush Hwy and North Usery Pass Rd. back down to Signal Butte Rd. in Mesa.

I organized this one last year and had a great time. I don't think I can swing it this year. Have fun. Watch out for the LE as they are patrolling all over this route. Instant On radar is in use.
