1080P DLP Shopping?
I was talking to someone (can't remember who, too much Champagne) at brunch last week about DLP TV's. After lots of research I decided to go with the Samsung 61". Showcase has it for $5000, on "sale" for $4000, I haggled them down to $3600 plus 10% off a stand.
I bought it for $2999 delivered. If you're in the market, go to samsung.com and it links you to their authorized online retailer in the product section. A-stock, full warranty, free shipping, no sales tax. Awesome deal, took a week to get here but it's worth the wait to save that much and skip the sales tax.

There were a couple models that didn't have links, but most did. Go to this page:
http://www.samsung.com/products/tv/dlptv/index.asp
and click the orange box for the online retailer under the unit you want.

They are a BBB member. No unresolved issues, in business for many years, etc. The factory warranty comes with in-house service for the first year, so I wasn't that concerned.
BTW, Showcase has many unresolved complaints and are not a BBB member if you care about that. The guy there said I shouldn't buy online because DLPs are notorious for showing up D.O.A., but mine is working fine.
