Default You know those anchors for the cargo net?

I think this belongs in this forum, as it is an issue I've seen pop up. I'm offering these for a very small fee; enough to cover the order and shipping.

Ever have one of those cargo net anchors disappear behind the panel? Honda does not offer them, so I thought I would be SOL. Turns out I was able to extract one of them.

I found the parts at an aircraft supply place. They are called "Wellnut B-832" anchors. I bought a pack of 10 as that is how they sell them. I have not received them yet, but the pics on their catalog were dead on, so they should work.

I have six left after my 4. If anyone wants one, I'll do them for $2 each plus shipping (appropriate I think as I pay shipping plus a small order charge) which will probably be about $1.50 in a padded envelope regardless of quantity. I won't actually take your money until I know they are the right part.

I'd appreciate a few bumps to the top; I know there are people here who need one or two.

I want the remaining 2 please if they are the right thread. I have tried to get some here, but despite their 8/32, the bolts on the hooks seem to be 70mm. I have found B-832s here (had a develish time), but couldn't screw the bolt in

interesting. 8/32" is .25", 7mm is .2755".

They might fit, they might not. They look like they might be M5, too. I'll test that with the antenna; that is known M5. If they are M5, here is a source:

the model number that I have in my hand is "wellnut 832 5"

maybe they are 5mm.

EDIT: The antenna bolt is 5mm *.8mm. It is too large.

the plastic anchors have a "4" on them. They are probably 4mm.

I measured the bolt. it is either 3 or 4mm. There are M4 wellnuts out there, but not any M3 in the US.

Hmm, wierd, went into hardware store and it fit a 7mm nut. Maybe it was in the wrong bin. Anyhow keep me posted, if the ones you ordered work, I would like the last 2. Will pay the extra for shipping to Canada of course.

P.S.: thanks for the link, a motrocycle dealer was my next step as my internet research suggests wellnuts are very common on bikes.

it fit in a 7mm nut because the nut is measured from top to bottom.

the threads on a bolt have their own specifications, too. I think the anchors are 3mm with a thread pitch of .5mm. A 7mm nut probably fits, but that is because the nut and the actual threads are measured differently.

That gives some hope that the anchors I get may work. perhaps they are measured by the diameter of the anchor nut rather than the threads.

fasteners are confusing.
