It doesn't help out in the HP range that much but for some reason it tends to help out in torque. Dyno tuned cars have seen more torque output with a grounding kit.

 

On all the cars I have installed the grounding kit on it made a difference but don't expect 10hp or anything like that.

 

i think it was like a 2HP increase when they installed a similiar ground wire on Import Tuner on a S2000 and dynoed it

 

In May/03 issue of turbo magazine they installed a hiper ground kit on a 01 wrx, and they saw increases of 1.2whp and 10.9 ft/lbs of torque. I guess they're might be some differences because they are 2 completly different cars, turbo'd vs non turbo'd. For maximum output they made 4 or 5 adjustments to find the most increases.

The grounding point also comes into play. There is said to be optimal points on each car. Import tuner never released which ones were best for the cars they tested though.
