People, if you think you can buy this box alone for $200, please tell us who can make it and we will buy it right now! LOL Quality comes at a price and out here the labor rate is easily $90/hr at any local stereo shop that is worth it's weight. We appreciate all the bumps and so called experts, thank you.

 

How much clearance is there from the trunk "arm" and the top woofer? It looks like when the volume is turned up with the trunk closed, The rubber surround on the top woofer might hit the arm?

 

You are second guessing our design too much - the woofers DO NOT HIT anything and the sound, well if you are local we'd be happy to demo but for those who have heard it, let's just say it hits like a 12" or 15" woofer in the trunk. We run a JL class-D mono sub amp with 500 watts RMS to it. In most cases during our demo, the listeners ears give out before we manage to get anywhere near the clipping levels.

Sidenote: To get this deep clear bass without any rattles, our guys did modify the rear plastic shelf (under the soft top) with vented holes to allow the air pressure to pass into the cabin. Otherwise the air has nowhere to go. This is a key mod that makes our system sound amazing. That and the fact the car has liberal amounts of dynamat helps!
