Yep, the tires cost $940 shipped from tirerack, and installed locally. It is the tire value that keeps the price of this combo up so high as people are looking to refresh their tires. Without them the deman would be much lower - and so would the price.

Since fresh tires/rims go for $1300 and under (for wear) that puts the rim value of the transaction at about $360 - or about $90/rim
