Good question. I asked this in the hardtop gallery thread but no real answer yet.

Not sure. I think it might be too large and I dont know what kind of insurance they can offer on something that expensive.

Yes. 2000-01 has a different defroster wiring with a button for it and thicker front strikers. From 2002-05 is the same since the defroster button is already on the car, but in 2006 the defroster wiring was changed once again and I believe the wiring for that is no longer available.

Also hardtopguy lists a different kit for 2000's with VIN under 5730. Although I've never seen one, I'm assuming there are some difference's where the side catchers mount. Maybe someone with firsthand experience can clarify that.

Ok so thicker strikers and different defroster harness. I didnt even use the defroster and it was never needed honestly.

So just so I'm 100% clear, I would just need to buy these strikers individually if I didn't care about rear defroster functionality?

I think it would fit even with the strikers I have because I have hardtop strikers but if you want to see if there are different part numbers for later years you can. I cant imagine honda changing the body any to make the top fit different.
