I think I may just keep it and install it. It will cost probably less than $100 to have it repaired. Mine is not smashed at all. It only has surface cracks in the gel coat and one scuff on the under side that can't be seen.
I plan on painting it like Chris has his, but I'm leaving the bottom clear so the CF can show through. Chris has his painted black.
Maybe when it's installed someone will mistake my car for Chris'. Except mine's red.

Here is an overall photo of the lip
Here are the close ups of the gel coat cracks.
This is the worst crack. It is smaller than a dime, but the gel coat has come off at the crack. (easily repairable)
Here are surface cracks in the gell coat.
Same thing on the other side.
Scuffs on bottom
More scuffs

It is not perfect, but it is FAR from being in bad shape. The lip probably should be painted in the same fashion as CJB80's, but the bottom edge can be left clear. If you want to paint it, the only part that will need repair is the front lower edge of the lip. The other cracks are fine, they are only in the gel coat. They look to just be cracks from flexing, not from impact. The only crack from an impact is the small area on the front lower edge which is about the size of a dime. This can be sanded down and recoated.
If you wanted to leave it unpainted, I wouldn't recomend this lip for you.
