No offense but I would never pay $3500 for a hardtop, you guys my be high rollers cause to me, its fiberglass, metal, and paint nothing more. the actual COST of that hardtop is more like $400 if that...as for the op sell it for $2400 if you got the offer, rem we are in a crap economy right now nobody wants to spend big bucks

Actually its aluminum and high quality and painted already with hardware that cost 400 alone. So a new hardtop for 3500 isn't a bad deal.

But for reference...because I live in nh and didn't want to ship it, I sold my mint Rio hardtop locally to a guy willing to uninstall my hardware and do the work, for 1500 picked up and uninstalled off my s2000, just to get rid of it.

The OEM tops are made out of aluminum. And shaped to perfection..... By Hand!!! Definitely worth 3500.00 brand new.

I will still hold out for more. If you are saying that you WOULD NOT purchase anything because the cost of its production is far less than it's inflated retail value; so you don't buy clothes? electronics? food? it's all about supply and demand, look at the cost of fuel?

I have a pair of OEM hardtops also listed for sale here (both a GPW and a Rio yellow) and both are in absolute mint condition as I demand anything I buy that goes on my car to be perfect.

Keep in mind hardtop sales are usually limited to a local sale since shipping one would cost easily $900+ for freight.

I have my 09 GPW hardtop listed for $2900 and FIRM on price. You can sell for whatever you want but I would say minimum is $2800 if it's mint.

I also have a Mugen FRP hardtop and listed that one for $3600.

People can give you advice all day long but in the end, all you need is one buyer if you are patient. Of course if you live in the middle of nowhere it would be hard to sell a hardtop without shipping it so just depends on your geography/location too.

P.S I'm located in northern CA so it's a hotspot for car parts

g'luck!

The problem here is that many people think items have an inherent value just because they think thats what its worth and/or because they've seen one sell for that much.

The bottom line though is that something is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it (and does). You can think its worth whatever you want, but at the end of the day its only worth what you actually sell it for.

Im not a high roller nad Did Not buy new. I was part of a group that was working a group deal on the last tops from Honda. We had a price of 2800 each worked out delivered to a Florida dealer and then Hardtopguy swooped in and bought all of them before we got #10 paid up. I will not buy from him due to this deal he did.(which screwed us) I bought mine from a local member for $2500, did not have to ship and got help putting it on, now it just needs paint.
