Post Upgrade issues

Your reading comprehension skills suck. I didn't tell you to give your email address to people that owe you money. I merely stated that I have exchanged email addresses with folks and that is one way of contacting them. I did say you're a fool for not storing phone numbers of people who owe you money in more than one place.
I don't plan for mistakes at work, but shit happens. I just try to have all possible bases covered so I'm not causing any delays in business running as it should.
Perhaps your methodology is better, but your whining isn't helping, is it? And the community will survive a couple weeks of slow response, even if you think the world's future hinges on this upgrade.
I've also taken part in global deployments in IT. I'm happy that we both have jobs. Yay us.
I understand what your original gripe was. Which is why I asked you whether you're making things better with all your whining. You didn't answer that part.
Lastly, I'm not embarrassed myself. I'm trying to be reasonable in a tough situation for all the users. If anything, I'm ashamed that educated, professional adults don't have the maturity to be patient.

Look I'm not trying to debate this but please keep inappropriate comments to yourself, if you come to criticize how people should use of the forums then you don't realise that people have different requirements. Maybe you should write an instruction/step by step manual of how you use the forums and expect everyone to use it? I don't suppose you favour a dictatorship?
YES for some it is their lively hood and they should be recognised, not ridiculed by a troll. A lot of companies have been established because of S2Ki if you haven't realised, but judging by your activity I doubt it.
Sometimes you don't plan to be chasing people for money, I wasn't until the upgrade started as they didn't keep to their agreements. Its a bit late when you realise because you don't expect there to be a lack of trust and I don't really have time to keep backup of peoples numbers etc from PM's unless I was to add them to my mobile address book but why would I ? Maybe you're right, if I had nothing better to do during my day then I would do that but fortunately I have full time arrangements, this should be the least of my worries. Now going back to what you said about notifying people to back up their data, this wasn't mentioned as "months of planning" was the assurance for everyone. Actually looking at the site I see a few hours of implementation, no planning - Maybe try configuring your own IPB board then you'll realise that the only difference between this and a new setup is just the gallery and some settings. I'm sure if either of us done that with our job roles we'd be fired to say the least.
In terms of "whining" I'm pointing out what's going wrong. Like if you have a protest, consider this it. If enough people protest then a solution will be made. This is, back to my first point, not a dictatorship.
Also if you hadn't noticed we had two promises about PM's, Initial one said 12-24 hours, the next one said it would be resolved the same day (yesterday). Both haven't been satisfied which gives enough reason for me to be disappointed.
And to address your mention about maturity, I don't suppose maturity lies in calling people "criminal fncking whiners".
Dig your hole deeper as you wish.

I have to say that Joeh has been very helpful to me (and others I'm sure) with trying to navigate the new system. I'm getting the hang of it now, and I'm a pretty old dog. FTR, I'm in the computer biz myself (computer security these days), and know quite a bit about developing and implementing systems. Implementation of new/updated systems never goes as planned. I think some more patience is called for here. I understand people are frustrated, but all this arguing isn't buying us anything. Stick to the specific issues you have, so Erik can make note and take action.
My first post ( https://www.s2ki.com/...st__p__20326509 ) wasn't actually to fire up a debate it was just to make my point about progress. I understand we should be patient but I know these type of forums etc very thorough and I understand how long or what time frames are involved, just like if you're working for someone they have a rough idea how long the jobs they set you should take so they know when you're doing your work or not.
All I'm hoping for is that they get back to work because its clear that nothing is happening.
I myself am very patient but I can tell that the way things are going, patience will be against us as people get comfortable.

Service Level Agreements are written and signed for a reason. Last I checked, my $20-$50 didn't come with an SLA. If S2KI partners take up issue with the downtime, they'll take it up with those running S2KI and the parties involved will address the issue. The OP simply said, "I tried to list some items for sale today." That doesn't exactly sound like mission critical anything to me. I could be wrong, and if I am, retvet will likely take it up with S2KI when he can. If an SLA is in place, then they'll likely agree to some set of terms based on the SLA. And if S2KI is his ONLY avenue for selling to and reaching his customers, perhaps it's time he started thinking about expanding on that a bit. He's not selling hot dogs on the corner, he's selling on the internet. It's common sense to consider having more than one location/method for your customers to reach you.

Based on what i've read... and my own falling out with Joeh (which got resolved as it was simple mis-communication... or actually too much communication haha)all i have to say is that i wish we could go back to the Mod 1 Picturephone:
in all honestly, yes this could have been handled differently and most likely in a smoother manner, but just like in any business, a choice was made and it was unfortunately not the best. things like this happen in the business world. They are now trying to deal with it the best they can. If i were then... i'd shut the whole site down again and stop everyone's whining all together.
by the way... from what i've heard... you can now say shit and porn on the site...... lets see if its true!

I can't believe the posts in this topic. Get over yourselves. It takes a LONG time to recode stuff. Almost always when there is a new software upgrade there is a lot of coding hacks back in to the forum as the feature just was never there. It ALWAYS takes time. I don't see anyone offering to help with the transition, only bitch about it.
All in all, get over yourselves. This isn't the only s2k site to peddle your trash on.
