Thumbs down Ohio Rt. 26 drive plans

Alright fellas, my vacation has been approved so I am planning the drive for July 8th and 9th. I would like to get an idea now, if possible, of how many people think they may be going. This will be an overnight trip obviously. I will get you the hotel information in the future so we can book rooms. As for the drive, I am considering two possible routes. One way will be the most bad ass drive you have ever taken. However it may be too long and tiresome for some. The other way would be utilizing interstates to get to the top of Rt. 26, so it would be a little easier and less tiring. I would like your opinion on how hardcore of a drive you want this to be. One thing is for sure, our starting point. We will be meeting in Boardman, OH off the first turnpike exit in Ohio. So, for now let me know how many of you realistically think you will go and if you want an all state route superdrive or a little easier drive involving highway and state route.

ya, i'd go....i had read your post earlier and thought that would be a great idea.....i'd like to stay off the turnpike as much as possible in OHIO because their state police are among the worst in the country....but on the back road are a different story....that would be a great weekend trip...so try to keep it off the main roads as much as possible.....lets hope for no rain!! I'm in!!

I know it is a long ways away to commit to. But, if we plan now we can get an idea of how many are probably going. I am not going to do the drive unless I get a certain number of people.

The extended route I was cosidering utilized several great state routes that I regularly drive. Starting in boardman we would take rt. 164 to rt. 9. Stay on 9 until we are south of I-70 then cut over to rt. 26 utilizing rt. 148. I will try to figure out the mileage. All I can say is, this will be one for the record books. This drive will be very fun because all the above routes I have driven and can tell you they are amazing.
