Well, hmmmmmmm - he actually looks alot like me - his twin brother looks like his mother, and Stephanie got the best of both sides.


Just checked the website - looks like Thad's stats put him in 26th place, with only 6 dogs - I know he left with 8 dogs, so it is likely he had to retire two of his team in the interest of there health - not uncommon. And that is why many of the long distance racer participants have 16 or more dogs at the beginning.

Many years ago my Dad and I went to a sled dog race in Cook Forest of all places. I dont know if they still do it or not, but I know I was struck by the sheer dedication and the love of the sport by those dogs. I have read and re-read The Call of the Wild and White Fang by Jack London many times over the years. Definately a cool sport. Kudo's to your son for getting into it. Its a lifestyle for sure.
