Default Wrecked my S

Well...its not totaled but I had to take off the passenger fender, headlight and front bumper to make it driveable.

I had just put on a new rear sway and was taking her out to see how it felt. It stiffened up the rear end considerably and made it alot faster to break loose in a corner and before i knew it I was sliding sideways in my neighborhood and I slammed into a parked ES300. its about 3K worth of damage, airbags didnt deploy and there isent any frame damage. Pretty much all I need is a passenger fender, passenger headlight, headlight bracket, and a front bumper.

if any of you guys know of anyone that has any of those parts for sale OEM or aftermarket let me know cause I need to get her fixed soon.

That's a bummer, especially on a test drive after the mod.

I don't remember which thread it was in, but Rollins recently mentioned a yard up in TN that gets a lot of S2Ks. Don't know if the have any body parts that are ok, or of they're primarily parting out the guts of the cars. Might be worth checking out. Look for the thread for the guy in Tuscaloosa that was looking for a new engine.

Good luck!

Ouch, sorry to hear about that, it really sucks.

Please don't take this as a flame because it's not. Why the rear sway bar? As a racer the first thing I did to improve the handling of my S2K was to put a larger sway bar on the front to help tame the oversteer.

You forgot to add, "you should've seen the other guy."

Hope you find good parts, sorry to hear about it.

the way I drive I usually like oversteer, in my celica and SRT I upgraded the rear sway in both of them and loved the way they handled. But the oversteer is insane on the S with this new rear sway. I was planning on putting the front sway on the same day, but it was hot out so my friend and I were taking a break after the rear install and driving to SnoBiz.

Thanks for the info on that junkyard countnkick

I can understand that since I like oversteer too since it can be so much fun. Sadly the S2000 is very unforgiving and the point of no return hits hard and fast. Sounds like the heavier rear bar just caught you off guard and bit you in the ass.

I once had a sway bar end link break on the track and the result wasn't pretty. In fact I hope to have a short video up some of a heim joint breaking on me at a little over 100mph in a Formula Atlantic / V8 Special. The result wasn't pretty but it was a hell of a ride.

PM chickenknob. He's the new guy from mississippi. He has two AP1 parts cars, and I think the front end is intact on both of them.
