One of the guys I work with makes vinyl stickers as a side business.

Peter-If you can show me exactly what you want I can get him to do it.

I'll need some new brakes soon. I will probably go with a StopTech Stage II kit. I was hoping to paint the calipers at the same time.

One question. What's the best way to get my S up on 4 jack stands?

Rollins - I think these particular decals need to be some kind of special heat resistant something or other, but I may be wrong. At the time I was considering a "chrome" finish decal. I think I still have the files lieing around, it was just a slightly curved version of our AS2K logo.

KMRJJ - Front/back/front/back is how I do it. Then maybe again, to get a little more height. (but I'm no expert)

I ended up just going to autozone and purchasing the $15 caliper paint kit. It's rated to 500 degrees.

Plus, I've noticed a lot of posts from people saying the painted theirs without removing them from the car. Is that acceptable?

It is what I have done on mine, not that it is right or wrong. I have had trouble with a few chips and had to touch it up once already and it could use it again. "Is it acceptable?" Well it is a job that achieves the desired look at little cost with some effort. If it was easier to get it done, I would have gone powder coated but you see what I have. I would suggest taking your time and clean them well before starting. Also try to get as much of the surface as to avoid the "painted" look. If you have the patience to pull them completely off then yes it would make for an easier time painting but I think you can get around them pretty well on the car. Best of luck and let me know if you have any questions.

I agree with NoS. No need to take them off. Spend as much time as you can on prep.

Junkie, I'm headed your way tomorrow afternoon on my way to Montgomery. If you are out and about look for me on the Interstate! Depending on the time when I'm coming back on Sat, I might give you a call to see where you are if you might want to get together and shoot the breeze for a bit.

Cool! I'll be around, drop me a line. I SHOULD be slaving away on SESM matters, but I've been having trouble getting to that stuff lately.
