Default Shifting issue

On the way home from barbers my car stopped shifting. Car is stuck in 2nd gear will go into 3rd sometimes but that is it. I have a axel flow short throw shifter installed a few months ago. Could that be the problem are more like synchros or something else. Any help would be greatly appreciated got car home but is stuck in 2nd gear gear right now.

Check the clutch fluid. Might be a leaking clutch master cylinder catching up to you.

The SS shouldn't be an issue as long as you can engage reverse.

Now car is shifting fine. Very confused now. I tried to shift again would not shift then it whent into 6th and now will go into all gears. Checked clutch fluid and its about 1 and a half inches from the top. not completely full but along ways from being empty. I'm not sure how full it should be but looks like plenty of fluid to me. it seems like when the car cooled down it started shifting ok.

I'm sorry it would go into neutral and 2nd gear sometimes 3rd gear but would not go into any other gear not even reverse. But now its working fine.

Weird issue you have going on there. Maybe someone else who's seen this before can chime in with some input after everyone gets home. Might have been an air bubble in the clutch line. If you're low on fluid, I can imagine it's black which is an indication there is air in the system. It would be unusual to see it cause that issue though.

Fluid is almost clear just very light brown color. Just changed fluid about 8-9k ago. Its been about 14 months though. Thanks for the input though any and all is greatly appreciated. I did have an issue at track today where it would not go into reverse. Mark told me to go to 6th then to reverse and that worked. It shifted fine till this. I forgot about that.

The 6th then into reverse is a trick Chris told me a longtime a go.

Mine has this reverse problem if it has been sitting a while and I have pushed the car around in the garage instead of starting it to move it 5 feet.

Reverse is a spur cut gear and the idler doesn't have a synchronizer, that's why shifting to a synchronized gear moves the gears in the set and you can shift the reverse.

His car has a classic clutch release issue, the slave or the master cylinder is most likely leaking.
