Post For Sale: CompTech Sway Bar (adjustable)

I have a Comptech Sway bar for sale. This is the much talked about $1000 bar that was the bar to have in 2000. This bar went out of production when Comptech folded a couple of years ago.

I switched to the Gendron bar because I feel a stiffer bar is needed with the R-Compound racing tires that are available today.

No issues (might stand a repaint). I did shear the single aircraft quality adjustment bolt after two years of events and ran a couple of events with the pair Grade 8 bolts pictured. I have in-hand 5 of the aircraft grade adjustment bolts (they were $7ea special order). So you will have 4 spares.

I am unable to upload pics (whz the deal?), more photo's are here: Flickr Pics of CompTech Bar., I have a pdf of the installation instructions.

I would like to get $400, but will consider offers. I am posting it here first (because I am hoping not to have to ship it). If you pick it up, I am willing to help you install it here in my shop.

More info on the CompTech here: Autocross thread.

I am the second owner of this bar and with no signs of distress after all this time, I feel like it has to be the second generation bar. I think the first generation bar would have broken the bar before it sheared the bolt.

If I didn't have a Gendron I'd get one of these. Much easier to make an adjustment.

This is unobtanium people. It's also a killer price. The last time they were for sale it was 9XX new.

I used it for two years of autocrossing, its good for taming the loose tail. It's VERY good on the street and, because it's adjustable, you can set it to suit your needs.

Chris (Slows2k) told me a long time ago that I should get a stiffer front sway bar. This was too good to pass up. Hopefully the back end will stay planted better in the corners.
