Default S2k Price Annoyance

The low prices for S2k's is starting to bother me. You can find a one owner S2Ks for under $15,000 with under a 100,000 miles. It is starting to bother me. The lower prices are good except for the fact I know how much I spent on mine and I wish it just cost more to get into an S2K. I guess it's just jealousy. Seeing more of them on the road and younger and younger people driving them. I am young myself but when a guy making minimum wage is driving one it just bothers me.

I enjoy surfing the web and looking at Autotrader and other online sales for cars. I can find some really affordable(cheap) S2Ks.

The S2K is such a wonderful and beautiful machine. It just hurts when you see them unappreciated. Lower prices means lower appreciation in my book. I put almost 50% of the total price of the vehicle down and now two years later it's only worth a fraction more than I owe.

If I had enough money I would pick up another one. Using one for everyday, play, modding, and fun. And keep my 2003 with warranty in the garrage.

Pardon my vent but does anyone feel the same way.

Heck ... I've seen some surprisingly low clearance prices on new ones at the dealership ... they started going down late in the summer.

When I was looking at mine, it was the only one on the lot, and a GPW was being unloaded off the truck the day I decided to buy. This year, however, there have been 5-6 on the lot for most of the year ... I guess they grabbed at too much inventory at once ... but it was disappointing to see the new ones going at several $K below $30K beginning early in the fall.

Winter time always has lower roadster prices. 00-01 S2k's are now getting close to a decade old! Most cars are worthless in that much time. Good condition 02-03 can be had for $20k... not bad considering they were $33k new. In 6 years, only 30% of value has been hit. Fords take that much off instantly on a new car!

I had a hell of a time selling my04 ap2.

I ended up getting like 19 and change. Considering they have been out for 8 model years now you're going to see the prices drop.

I paid $17,500 for my 04 AP2 in October. The prices are low becuase it's not a limited production car. You have to lower the price or the buyer will get a car from someplace else. If they had only produced XXXX amount of them, then that would be different. Seeing as how i just gotmy car, I enoy the low prices, but it doesnt mean that I appreciate the car any less than any other car I have. Im only 21 so i guess i could be one of those young punks you see driving around, but nothing was financed by daddy and I am grateful for all that I have, I just happen to have gotten a good deal :-P

Glad you got a good deal on your purchase, and I am feeling absolutely blessed to have gotten nearly $26K for my '07 from a dealer! Most dealers were only willing to give about $22K FYI.

The S is a VERY limited production car by nature. If you're referring to calling it "limited production" and numbering them I guess they would be more valuable, maybe not.

I don't know about limited, I mean there have been well over 60,000 sold in the US. That's a pretty good number to choose from when buying new or used. It's not limited like a Galant VR4 or a factory Supercharged MR2...both of which were available for only 2 years and had less than 3000 ever imported into the US. I feel the prices have done pretty well actually...for a 5+ year old car to still hold ~50% of the original value isn't so bad.
