I fell on my left wrist a couple of weeks ago, and broke my effin wrist.
I broke the one next to it in the 7th grade - same way although they just put my hand/forearm in a hard plastic cast that I could take off when I bathed.

My appointment is at 10:30 this morning. I'll let you know what I find out. I had searched the net when I first injured it and the scaphoid bone is exactly what I thought was broken. I even told the urgent care doctor that I thought it was a scaphoid break. The problem with this bone breaking is that it is only fed by one blood vessel at one end. When it breaks the broken piece may not get enough blood flow if it doesn't heal correctly, or it may not grow back together at all (called a non-union.) If either of those things happen the broken piece of the bone will die. That's why I said they may have to do surgery, and why the ortho doc was freaking out for me to get over there ASAP.

eh, it's not the end of the world, I've hurt myself a lot worse than this.
My wife said "Well, Are you happy now? It IS BROKE! Are you gonna quit whining about it, now." I guess I was crying about it a little too much for her.
I'm gonna quit complaining, but I'll make sure to let her know that I was right every chance I get.
