Thumbs up Nasty S2000 Wreck in Mobile - 9-17-06

Passing though Mobile Alabama late on 9-17-06... maybe 1am

Had just gone through the large, cool, tunnel (only 2nd time ever) and on my way out say the S-2000, top down, zooming along about 90mph or so...

Even at 1am, there was traffic, and I watched before my eyes as he switched lanes again and again to maintain his speed, until he clipped a car, and went careening into a truck, which hit the fall and flipper, as the S-2000 skidded into the wall, and back over again into more of the cars...

Looked bad.

It all happened so quick. Dust, crashing. No time to stop, so I dodged debri and cars to get out of the dust, and came to a stop as soon as I could see in front of my face.

Everyone stopped. Like, 60 cars. We were all looking at each other like, what the hell happened, and several people were heading back into to help the people in the wreck. My wife and I figured that they had to many people complicating the situation, and 20+ 911 calls, so we went on after a few moments so we didnt add to the mess.

I dont know how many cars were damanged, but I know the S-2000 must have been totalled, if not the driver killed. I dont know.

It was a yellow one, and he was driving alone with the top down. I figured I would post it here in hopes of getting any information as you guys can be a tight nit group.

Anyone know anything?

Just a concerned citizen that was passing though on his way back home...

Wow ... sounds like a bad situation. Haven't heard anything about it here in No AL. Hope that there were no serious injuries from this one ... but anyone behaving like that in traffic, especially at that hour when one would guess that other irresponsible practices were in play, does not deserve to be driving a car like the S. I am no angel in that respect, but in those situations, I take extra caution to care for myself and my property, which translates into the same respect for others' property. Part of me wants to say "What a f--king idiot!"

Have any of you guys from the Mobile area seen any reports on this?

Was that Sunday morning the 17th or actually Monday morning the 18th? I haven't heard anything but I'll ask some questions.

I can count on 1 hand on how many Yellow S2000's live in Mobile, Did it have anything done to it? I always see this younger black guy driving his, it has a S2000 plate on the front. Were you able to see what all was done to it? Wheels anything?

I remember the driver was a white male.

Could not tell if it was modified or not...

The wreck was technically sunday morning, 1am.

I couldn't find anything in the Mobile Press on-line. You'd think it would have been reported -- and it may have been but I couldn't find it.

i think i may have found the car here local but im not completley sure its the same one i was talking to one of my dad's co-workers the other day and he said that his neighbor had one for sell. He said it was yellow and had been run under a truck but the only thing that needed replacing was the hood
