Default My clutch problems continue....

Ok so i am still having problems with my clutch. When i got the car it had a CT stage 2 clutch that was on its way out, when starting off in first it had a awful chatter. It was almost like it had no middle ground, it was either engaged or not. This was also the case while trying to reverse slowly. I thought this could be because of the type of clutch, i had never driven anything with that heavy of a clutch prior to this.

So the time came to replace the worn out clutch. I got a new clutch kit and had my flywheel resurfaced, then had Mattdtuck install it all for me (he did a great job by the way). But i am having the same issue. When you try to gently take off instead of slipping a little it chatters like it is having trouble engaging smoothly.

Any ideas? I am thinking it could be the clutch fluid but im not sure, i looked and its almost a inky black color. And to clarify i can drive a manual just fine, i had an ap1 prior to this car and it was a breeze to drive. I need to get this fixed where i can enjoy this car like the last one....

I put the F1 racing stage 1 clutch in it. I know its not the greatest but from what i read everyone was satisfied with theirs. What differences can i expect to see after the fluid change?

not sure if its going to fix your problem. It might just be with the racing clutch. CT clutches are known for the on / off engagement but i dont know anything about F1 clutches. I would have went with an Act HD plate with street clutch. those are a little more petal pressure but smooth engagement

Any one of those racing clutch are going to be all out or nothing. You should be expecting chatter from them, especially from immediate take of or reverse.

The ACT with an OEM disc is a good recommendation, but I'm personally leaning towards the SOS kit for my car.

It's the clutch guy. I even get a little chatter from time to time out of my act clutch.

ACT's are known for chatter correct? I thought the white car has the OEM disc though?

They are not. I get a small hint occasionally. I have an ACT disk.
