Help, need ideas stuck in Commerce
So the PT Cruiser decided to eat its timing belt in Commerce last night. I need some ideas to get it home as well as us. I've got a few ideas, but none are without issues.
1. Rent a u-haul and tow dolly/trailer and tow it home. It's not running so I'd need some genius way to get the car onto the dolly. I considered chalking the wheels and using a tow strap, but it doesn't give me the warm fuzzes. It would also get us home in at least by Tuesday.
2. Have it repaired here. This would be rather costly and a last resort. We would either use the dealer or another shop and be forced to leave the car and return to pick it up. Add in the cost of getting us both home.
3. Have it towed? It's costly and I think an auto transport would be cheaper.
From what I've seen, it's a non-interference motor and the only damage that could have been done would be valve-to-valve contact when the belt broke. I did a quick check through the inspection hole and the belt is indeed broken. A leak down could determine whether any valves are bent and I have all the bloody parts sitting in my garage. Any ideas?
Feel free to call me also 334.3x.2044. Thanks for everything.

don't know where Commerce is (Google does'nt seem to know either), but I am in Huntsville and can offer a sofa for the night and/or garage and tools for DYI repair.

I misled you, but Commerce is a city in GA. I've got it mostly figured out. The car is at my cousins house and we'll toss the belt on this coming Saturday to check and see if there is valve damage. If there is none, we'll drive it home. If there is more noise, we'll pull the head and reinstall another weekend.
