I haven't seen or heard from Don in some time, just wondering if you were still out there. Hope everything is ok with your place in Florida. I didn't know how close it was to your final days in Bama, but you better not leave before we can take yall out for one last night!!

 

I saw him on Sunday, we very briefly shouted at each other in the road. I think he had just returned from Daytona. Hopefully, we'll hear from him soon.

 

Rob- thanks for the concern! Yes, I flew back to AL on Sunday and met Chandler on the road by the Home Depot. Chandler. sorry we had to cut short our discussion when the car came up behind me.

We were extremely lucky when Frances passed though our area! Lots of wind (80+mph for 18 hours) and rain (~10") and lost power for 2-1/2 days. Thankfully, we bought one of the last generators left here in AL before we left to drive home on 9/1. Most of the damage to our home was really just superficial as we lost a couple of screen panels on the pool enclosure, a grapefruit and orange tree that were right at the stage of maturing and about 10' of gutter that took a direct hit from a piece of plywood that was covering a neighbors sliding glass door.

Cynthia stayed down in FL and I flew back since we have to be back there for the granddaughters christening on the 27th. Not sure just how much longer we'll be here, as I'm expecting a job offer any day now that will have us relocating to Wilmington, NC.

We'll plan on getting together again with you guys before we leave for good! Meanwhile I hope that everyone makes it through Ivans visit over the next couple of days. BE safe!

I did some research, since I hadn't heard anymore from Don lately. It seems he got the job in NC. I hope he hasn't left without saying goodbye!!
