Brake / Clutch Fluid
Hey guys a few weekends ago I changed brake fluid. It was dirty, but my car is 2003 with 45,000 miles so nothing out of the ordinary.
As I understand it the fluid doesn't wear out, but it becomes contaminated, primarily with water from condensation. And with the extreme changes in temperature of a brake system, that would be expected.
However, what I was surprised to see was condition of the clutch fluid, I changed it this weekend. It was really nasty looking. It may have more contamination because it doesn't get hot enough to boil off any water that accumulates.
Anyhow, for good hydraulic health, you may want to look into changing these fluids. It's not hard to do and should contribute to the long term happiness of the internal parts.
