BEWARE! latch screws hit convertible top
A slight problem that could become a big problem occurs when I open and close my convertible top.
The latches have screws on the topside that rub on the convertible top when you open and close your top and my top has started to wear. My top is not leaking and doesn't have holes but I want to let people know about this issue.
People be careful and use your hand to keep the screws from rubbing when you open and close. I wish someone would have said something before or posted about it.
How can i restore the wear spots?
(Mainly above passenger latch and it is exactly where the underside of the latch has two screws. There are two wear spots exactly where the screws rub.)
How can I prevent any further wear?
Can I put electrical tape over the screws?
Can I put some sort of patch that will adhere to the top where the latch screws hit the top?
I am sure I am not the only one with this problem or the only one that has discovered this....
Any suggestions?

Never seen a hole from under the latch screws.
Seen plenty of other holes at behind the 3rd bow, at the base of the top behind the "B" pillar, and when the latch isn't locked back and gets caught on the 2nd bow.
