Katie got hit with the same thing goin down 231 in our S2K... She went to go to 5th and went to 3rd and just because a Civic with an exhaust was next to us he tried to say we were Racing on the Highway. She was speeding... but went to court and explained it and pleaded guilty to speeding and that was the end of it.

never admit anything to an officer during a stop unless you just plan on paying the fine.Example If you get pulled over and the officer did not have his radar gun on, but when he ask you how fast you were going if you say 10 over.
Since you just admitted to going 10 over and he can give you ticket for that despite not having his radar gun on. By admitting to speeding you just basically gave up your 5th amendment rights of not self incriminating yourself.
If you admit to something it is very hard to fight it in court if the officer submits the in trooper car video/audio data as evidence showing that you admited to speeding.

Yeah, I knew about the admitting thing. I was hoping he would just write me a speeding ticket, then I could just go to driving school and be done with it. He wrote me the racing ticket instead.

You know it's crap like this that makes me wonder why I even want another "street" sportscar. I know the law is the law and this guy likely thought he was enforcing it as he should. Still I'm hearing more and more stories where laws are written that can send you to jail on nothing more than a judgement call. Driving a car that seems to call attention to itself just makes things worse. Why would he even call it racing if the bike was just running away from you? That would be like saying a Piper Cub was racing one of the Blue Angels. That's just goofy.
