anywhere you'd trust to do some boring?
i have a second block that i wouldn't mind getting bored over .25mm , as honda offers a factory piston with .25 over bore. i know how picky the frm stock sleeves can be and i was wondering if theres anywhere around here, whithin a 3-5 mile drive that you'd trust to let them bore it. or that you know has bored an frm block before. im in tuscaloosa btw for reference.

R&R Speed Shop in Huntsville would be my bet. But i'll bet if you post on the ALSCCA board, you'll get some good advise on a shop that is close by.

R&R did both blocks for my CRX. The first one, a B18B, just had it tanked, honed, assembled, and balanced... $800-900 worth of work, took them f@#king MONTHS. A long, long, time. They always had excuses why it wasn't done yet. Me? I didn't want to be 'that guy' that constantly bugged them about the work getting done. I was pleased with the work, but very upset it took so damn long.
One of the sleeves cracked in that block, which I think was due to the B16 head being tapped just a little too far, which caused oil/coolant to mix, and I assume wasn't happy about me beating on it. I had a second block just honed and tanked by them, and it only took a few days.
I trust their work. They seem to know what they're doing. I just wasn't pleased with the first block taking so ridiculously long.

I have not used them, but I know TVR/TAC members that use them routinely. If you're looking for a speed oriented shop to work on your car in Huntsville, I think they are the only real choice. bjt1ngle is in T-town, so that is why I directed him to the Al SCCA board.
