Beautifully Modded-out AP1 Honda S2000 Hits Australian Streets
Simple and clean is always the way to go when it comes to project cars but this S2000 is simply killer from front to back.
The S2000 is a car that has existed for over 2 decades now. This means that a lot of build ideas for the car have exploited. How do you remain original after 20 years? The amount of aftermarket parts that exist for the chassis is almost endless. Whether its bumpers, intakes, or suspension, you’ll find dozens of offerings for each category. For this reason we really do appreciate is when a car is able to balance out their mod list and create a cohesive package.
This is where Deshan Silva‘s 1999 AP1 comes in. While nothing on the car might be revolutionary for the aftermarket scene, this car is more than the sum of its parts. It is about the execution that is important and we respect that aspect. Considering how damn good the S2000 looks even in 2019, we love when we see a amazing build like this come together. Thanks to Clay Wong on YouTube, let’s find out what Silva did to make his car stand out.
The police pulled over Wong during his review just to get a look. We don’t blame them.
To start its smart to mention that there essentially isn’t a single part of this car that hasn’t been touched. The most obvious and perhaps best car of the car is the color. This S2000 has been painted an OEM Lamborghini color known as Draco Verde, a beautiful green that was originally offered on the Murcielago. That alone really makes this car shine as its subtle, yet still attention grabbing. One thing that is for sure is you won’t see another S2K with this color.
To make the front pop, a Voltex front end with matching canards. A matching vented front hood and vented fenders really set it off. For contrast, there is a set of Spoon calipers. Rays lug nuts and Volk TE37’s in bronze wrapped in 265 section-width Yokohama AD08R really bring the whole car together. For suspension, a set of KW V3 coilovers, a tired and true option. For the rear, a molded trunk spoiler and custom CarshopGLOW LED taillights which might be the best piece on the car after the paint. The interior features a Mugen steering wheel, an AP2 center console, a color-matched roll bar, and Recaro RS-G seats. Did we mention he upholstered everything in alcantara?
What do you guys think of this S2K? Let us know know what you guys think in the comments. Silva soon plans on turbocharging the F20C. We can’t wait for that.
