First Time S2000 Driver Throws Down Hot Lap at Local Track

By -

Even almost two decades into existence, the humble S2000 continues to provide a rewarding and enjoyable on-track experience.

We came across a track day video from Alex Bernstein, an automotive photographer and one of the members of the ever-popular Hoonigan YouTube channel and brand. According to the video’s description, this is Alex’s first time in a S2000. What better way to first experience an S2000 than through a hot lap at Southern California’s Streets of Willow?

As seen throughout the video, Alex has a smooth and steady lap in a decently modded (exhaust, suspension, brakes, tires, etc.) S2K, leading him to a respectable lap time of 1:28.1. Alex states in the description that “going slow never felt so fun” and we couldn’t agree more. While the S2K may be less powerful than Alex’s full time track toy BMW 135i, it definitely doesn’t lack in the fun department. Maybe this taste might be enough to get Alex into a F20C full-time? Looks like we will have to wait and see.
