Modified AP1 S2000 OEM Hardtop For Sale Deal Prices S2KI.com

Single-owner S2000 has daily driver mileage, desirable upgrades and a price tag that’s impossible to ignore.

We just can’t help looking at cars for sale on Craigslist. Seriously, too many projects cars have come about as a result of late night Craigslist perusal. Now, we’re passing the infectious desire onto you, by showing you this excellent AP1 up for sale now on Craigslist.

Let’s get the headline figures out of the way now. It’s a 2001 S2000, in New Formula Red, with 126,000 original miles, listed for sale by the original owner. The price? Just $12,800. Why do we think it’s an absolute bargain? Well, that’s simple, the upgrades.

Now, normally, modifications seldom add value to a car. Regardless of how much we appreciate our own modified cars, the market generally tends to think otherwise, putting higher values on pristine, original examples. However, this particular S2000 has a build sheet that would leave most S2KI members green with envy.

Let’s start with the bodywork, as this is bound to be the most divisive change to the car. An Amuse style front bumper is paired to Downforce extended fenders for an extra 30mm of wheel clearance. Then ASM rear over fenders complete the aesthetic out back. Of course, an optional OE rear spoiler is present, as is an OEM-style hardtop painted Berlina Black. Underneath the modified bodywork is a set of Enkei RPF1 wheels, 17×9 +45 square setup.

The powertrain is stout, according to the seller, with a healthy clutch, solid transmission and rock solid engine, as you would expect from an F20C with just over 120,000 miles. A K&N intake and Berk high-flow cat help the engine breathe a bit better, and the clutch has ben replaced with a stage 1 ACT unit.

The suspension is rather simple, with D2 coil-overs and a claimed camber kit front and rear. It isn’t specified if this is ball joints, replacement control arms or otherwise, but it sounds right to us.

For $12,800 picked up LA, it sounds like a great ride for years to come.
