Perform the Ultimate Swap With This Honda V10 F1 Engine!
An Odyssey, a Fit, a Civic, an Accord, and of course – an S2000 could be the lucky recipient of a freaking Honda F1 engine!
Whether it’s your local autocross scene, or the Formula One World Championship, racing is embedded in Honda’s corporate DNA. Incredibly enough, now you can transplant a sizable chunk of such DNA to your Average Joe Honda, and all you need is around $12,000 bucks.
Racecars Direct has tapped into the dreams and fantasies of many Honda fanatics and F1 enthusiasts by listing for sale a Mugen-Honda MF-351 V10 engine. According to the description, this specific motor was developed and used for the 1993 -1994 season, although there’s no actual mention of this engine being used during an actual F1 race.
According to R&T, Mugen-Honda was the engine supplier for the Footwork Arrows and Lotus F1 racing teams during those years and propelled drivers like Aguri Suzuki and Christian Fittipaldi. Despite not being a noteworthy player in the overall standings, we think this lovely piece of engineering would feel right at home in the engine bay of an S2000. Don’t you agree?
While the engine itself comes out to approximately $11,800, we think it’s going to take another stack of cash to (legally) bring it over from Italy and install it in any kind of vehicle. Then again, who else do you know that has a freaking 700-horsepower Honda V10 F1 engine?
Worst case scenario, you can always use it for home decoration purposes such as a table top, lamp pedestal, or use its top-end to separate your silverware! The possibilities are endless.
If you them S2Ki sent you they’ll even hook you up with free shipping! No, just kidding. But you shouldn’t let that stop you from acquiring this awesome piece of Honda Racing history.
