In Memoriam: Dan Wheldon (1978 – 2011)
S2KI mourns the loss of Dan Wheldon, two-time Indy 500 winner and 2005 Series Champion, this afternoon at the 2011 IndyCar Series finale at Las Vegas. His untimely loss is a shock to the entire racing community, and fans of racing world-wide. Several S2KI members were also present at this race to participate in the parade laps and to watch the race. Just as the rest of us, we are sure they would not in their wildest dreams have imagined that they’d witness the loss of a great racing talent.
