CVS2KS Annual Yosemite Drive – by rob.ok

Each year the Central Valley S2000 Club host their Annual Yosemite Drive in April. We focus on choosing a different, yet exciting route through some of California’s most scenic and twisty roads. Each year a new route is chosen to keep things fresh and exciting for those that have attended the drive in the past. It’s always a new experience! The drive begins in Fresno, Ca and takes the better part of two hours to reach Yosemite Notional Park. Late April is one of the best times to for top down cruising through the area, and it also produces heavy snow melt in the Sierras, which makes for breathtaking views of the waterfalls inside Yosemite Valley.

On April 25th, S2000 owners from all over central valley California gathered in Fresno for the top down cruse. This year we had a record number of twenty two S2000s in attendance, plus 8 other makes / models!

The drive begins with a meet and greet, where s2ki members have the chance to meet each other face to face and check out all the S2000s in person before the drive. The S2000s are then all lined up and we head out. Along the way we stop a few times to give everyone a chance to stretch their legs and use the bathroom if needed.

This year we choose the last Sunday of National Park Week, so there was no fee to enter Yosemite National Park. Once inside the park, we gather everybody together again up for a late lunch at Yosemite Village. After lunch everyone if free to visit the natural attractions of the park and head home according to their own schedule.

I’m pleased to say that everyone had a blast and can’t wait for next year! Sun block will be on the top of everyones list for next year; quite a few members went home was a sun burn cause the weather was so nice.
