Insurance Companies for CT
I have 21st Century which is I think underwritten by Farmers.
Having a bad experience with them currently and it's only getting worse as I continue to dig into my policy changes etc.
Of course I am looking for good rates and for Home Owners & Car. Though service does count for something as well. Like actually putting your car on the policy when you ask them to and not 4 months later then try and bill you for the difference.
Suggestions welcome.

I have Hanover, but that's largely due to my local insurance agent doing the shopping for me. I might suggest going that route - there really isn't any savings to shopping and buying insurance directly, as agents can typically get the same price or better.
I'm sure you can get quotes from a local insurance company for free. Then you don't need to keep entering in your info on various websites to find the best package rates.
I've called Hanover twice, and they seemed fine as far as service goes. First time was when I busted my windshield in the Saturn (don't leave R-134a freon canisters in a sunny car) and the second time was a couple months ago when the wife hit the side of the garage with the Subaru. No hassle, which is about all I could want, but I'd still go with whomever is cheapest and let my agent figure it out.

Jim, we have homeowners and car/ umbrella policy and it is quite reasonable through HD Segur (located in Cheshire, CT) and they shop for us to find the best rates. We are under One Beacon Insurance through them. I highly recommend them, especially having to deal with my incident.

Got 2 quotes back and they were about double what I am currently at. Am going to probably hit up State Farm as well for a 3rd quote but I think I might have to suck it up and stay where I am.

If you have nothing on your record for the last 3 years State Farm should be able to hook you up pretty good. I saved quite a bit switching to them. Especially on the motorcycle, for a couple bucks more a month (literally) than I was paying Progressive for liability I got full coverage on the bike.
