Roll cage scca/nasa standard
#2
you dont need a roll cage to run scca and nasa HPDE/TT events.. w2w you will need a cage.. you can get a roll bar which is much more safe, especially if you are street driving the car..
we have a group buy going on right now for our roll bars.
here is a thread with pics of one of our friends that picked up a roll bar from us.

SCCA has very detailed, very stringent rules published online regarding the minimum requirements for their cages. I think the rule of thumb is that if it's SCCA legal it'll be more than adequate for IIRA (ice racing), NASA, PCA, ChumpCar, etc.
No, Cusco doesn't qualify. Real cages cost around $3000.
A Hard Dog or Rockstar Garage roll bar will probably be what you want if you're getting serious for track. There is a picture thread somewhere here if you dig a little.

Here's my S2000 race car build web page. The cage meets SCCA and NASA specs. The roll cage stuff is about 1/2 way down the page: http://robrobinette.com/S2000RaceCar.htm

Thanks guys for all the feedbacks.
Here's what I wanted to do in details.
1. wanted to see if I could put a roll cage and 2 seats with harness for Speed Venture stock class.
2. then will get into SCCA events. Hopefully there will be SPEC S2000 soon.
That's why I wanted to see what kind of roll cage will fit, or should I run the stock class first. if I am getting to SCCA then I go get a roll cage.
the S2k I have, I don't planned to put it on the street.
So.
Also, wondering if the stock class Speed Venture S2k Challenge will accept bigger brakes...what kind of pads...and rotors??? any regulations??
I've been trying to find out from the rule book but there are limited information about these 2 items

I would say if your are really, really sure you're going to race the s2k then go ahead and have the cage installed so you can get a head start on tuning the suspension with the much stiffer chassis, not to mention the track safety benefits. That's what I did and it paid off in performance in the SCCA comp school.
