the 350z has more torque, more horse power, quicker 0-60, faster 1/4 mile, a much more up to date interior, and even a little more cargo room.
So why do you think the s2000 is the better car ?

Bulk.
I have both and the S is a far superior car in every respect except highway cruising. My Z is the go to church or go get grocery car and the S is the fun car.
I will give the Z props for changing and upgrading over the years whereas the S has stayed in a time warp.
If you get a Z get a newer one, the older ones with the 6200 rpm rev limit just suck when compared to an S or the newer engines.
The Z has a 10" longer wheelbase which while good on the road isn't so great if you ever go to the track. It also weighs about 400 lbs more.
The Z clutch is just plain weird. It isn't a heavy clutch but it is like an on off switch located about halfway up the throw. Very tough to get used to a lots of stalls while you are getting it.
I thought that I would end up downshifting less on the Z but I haven't found that to be the case, the extra mass of the Z makes it require just as many downshifts

S2000's way much more fun to drive. And looks better IMO. Sure the 350z might be faster, but then if you get a 350z because its faster than an s2000, then your going to see ALOT more other cars that are much faster than the 350z. Plus you see z's every other minute. S2ks are much more rare.

I test drove a z prior to buying the "S". I don't think its interior is more up to date. The interior pieces felt cheap to me in comparison to the S. I really wanted to like the z, but the Honda won out in the quality dept to me.

I also wouldn't say they are faster. My 02 S outpulls my 07 Z in almost every test I can devise.
In any case, they are both fast, but the S is just a smidgen faster.
But it is nice to have a hardtop sometimes.

I agree with what the others have said and would add if your comparing roadster to roadster the 350z roadster just doesn't look right, top up or down.

I drove an '08 350Z over three days. It's a great car, and good value. But if you are to claim that the S is a better car than the Z, I would have to ask, in what way? What is your criteria for determining that? In the end, one car or another is only better in how it fits your needs. I would love to own a Z, that being said, I'm glad I chose the S.

Z Roadster is 350-400kg heavier than S. Insurance is much higher on more powerful Z, and the gas mileage is lower.
But there are positive points as well... it's engine is awesome, i quite like the styling as well. but skinnier and way less popular S is my choice

when i was looking for a car i test drove some z's the torque was nice but the interior seemed cheap and the rear end looks weird. also like other people have said you see them everywhere old ladies drive them around here. i think of them as a japanese version of the mustang.
