Default I'm serious about getting nitrous

i have been trying to get the search to work for a good 5 minutes, but it has been to no avail.

i was just wondering if anyone could point me to a thread or share their experience with nitrous. it seems like a much more simple way to get hp, and only when you really want it. installation seems a lot more simple and less intrusive than FI, and it also seems more cost effective and does not require any internal engine work. and a lot less cars run nitrous than FI, so i think i'd like to try it.

from what i've been reading on other sites, it seems like it's reliable if you use it correctly and buy a reputable kit, and won't put as much strain on your engine as FI because you only use it when you really want to.

i'd appreciate if you guys could shed some more light on this, or point me to a useful thread, or someone who has experience with nitrous in the S2000.

thanks

i'm looking at this one: http://hopupracing.com/nieximstonee.html

I have had a few diffrent Nitrous systems. I can tell you from personal experiance that it can be great if used correctly and your worst nightmare if you if you get happy with it. I prefer the ZEX kit because it is the easiest(read fastest) kit to install BY FAR IMO . Because its ran off of your TPS instead of having to fabricate a switch to work when you go WOT. They all work basicly the same, just MAKE SURE its a wet kit. I ran a 100shot on my s2000 without any problems for a few months before i went FI. But some others on here didnt last long with that much. Also I have had a 100shot on pretty much every honda that i owned and never had any issues with it unless missused.

One thing though, if you have never used it before. Dont expect it to be like you see on the movies or video games. Because its not. One of my friends rode in my car w/nitrous and was like damn thats nothing like i thought it would be. I was like what were you expecting, he was like i dont know, to be stuck to the seat while quickly approaching 200mph.

wow, thanks A LOT! that was some useful info. the reason i was looking at the NX kit is because i was checking out hopupracing and they didn't have the ZEX kits listed.

if you could, please shed some light on how to properly use nitrous.

thanks again Turboterror!

i guess i'm kinda scared from hearing horror stories of engines blown because of improperly used nitrous. i guess if i get the ZEX kit which uses the throttle position sensor along with some kind of rev cutoff i won't have to worry about that..

I also ran nitrous on my s2 for a few months. I ran a 75 dry shot ZeX kit. Don't do it unless you just have to. FI is 100 times a better feeling and you don't have to fill it up. Also, if you are spraying off the line watch out for rear axle ownage. I broke both mine in one launch clean in half. Nitrous is just a temporary fix to what you want, just save up and go FI.

i know nothing of how to activate a nitrous system. isn't it only going to work if you activate it and even then it will only work once you're at WOT? so if i wanted to use it i could get out of 1st gear THEN activate it?

also will there be any problems using nitrous with a 4.77 in stock AP1 diff w/o reinforcement??

thanks!
