Cars registered before 23rd March 2006 are group F, after that date they are just inside the new group G. We will have to see how the chancellor defines "the most polluting". Maybe another tax group ? Current details in table TC48 on this site.

Isn't that initial registration?

That is my interpretation. My 52 was taxed in group F last September.

I think the wheels are going to fall off the 'eco' bandwagon pretty quickly if they continue like this.

Even the most staunch feckwitt must now realise that this has nothing at all to do with the environment and more to do with taxing the shit out of us.

Does Mr. Brown realise that he's pressing the self destruct button ?

IIRC the emmisions that the total cars CO2 contribution is 2 or 4% thats all, they really need to end this hate relationship with the motorist and start focusing on what will effect the planet - not Browns pockets!!

Oh I do hope so.

"How do we fix global warming ?" "I know Sir - let's increase tax"

"Good man Biggins , that'll do the trick "...

They're idiots.

If this continues - I will be more likely to buy excellent 4x4's at rock bottom prices and LPG convert them.

Convert the S to Ethanol!? Or better yet do like the RX450h, put in a recharging battery that can move you for about 300meters!

What a tit!
