Wink Mikes Supercharger Project Car - The History!

So here is my Project Car
05 Moonrock with red/black, one owner from new with 10k miles on it.

Since my second S I have had a hankering for 50-60 more horse in a car like the S. Looked at TVR's, Porkers, Nobles, Exiges etc. But could not get my wallet around the depreciation and running costs. So I decided to up the output of the S and I finally got the colour combination I always wanted. What I'm after is taking the S to the next level with out making it look chavved

So here she is stock as I collected her today, does she look worried

And here's the Master Plan

Outside & Cosmetic
Debadge ALL badges DONE
Use the little VAG group V badge on the boot with no S on the front bumper DONE
Get my Veilside V1 rear spoiler resprayed Moonrock! DONE
Get the fugly front no plate holder anf HID washers off, holes filled and sprayed DONE
3/4 front plate with S2K number DONE
Get my key hole plugs resprayed and fitted DONE

HID matched 100W mains and side lights DONE
Silver bulb side indicators DONE
On to the paint work!
Visit to decent detailer for paint correction
Clay it DONE
Then use touch up paint to fill ALL the scratches and stone chips
LANGKA them ALL flat
Let TM lose on it with
2 x Vanilla Mouse coats
2 x EX-P coats
2 x NXT Tech Wax coats
1 x P21S coat

That's it - subtle changes DONE

Horses!
Comptech Supercharger with after cooler DONE
AEM EMS, 10 psi pulley, 750cc injectors, Ricks header and decat
Mugen AP2 exhaust DONE
Visteon Race Radiator with single fan DONE
Synth up the engine oil and up changes to 4.5k miles or 6 months DONE
That's it not tooooo much to strain the poor stock gearbox & drive train
Might do the Clutch Delay Valve removal mod as I hate that thing!
If I bust any of the Drive Train then I'll upgrade it!
Skunk2 magnetic drain plugs DONE

Chassis
Nitron Track Monotube Coilovers (I may upgrade the Sports ones to get the drop and adjustment I want (I think)) looking for 30mm drop without loads of camber DONE
Geo & corner weighting done by Centre of Gravity DONE
Whiteline Front Roll Bar DONE
12mm mounting blocks for steering rack to improve front bump steer on a lowered car once I've proved I need them DONE but I think 12mm is maybe too much
Muz/Whiteline lower X brace DONE
Comptech Ti Strut Bar to clear the after cooler DONE
A real good coat of underseal under neath! (I hate that job ) DONE
Braided hose to brakes with Motul RBF600 fluid DONE
Silk black painted stock calipers DONE
Race Logic Traction Control basic kit DONE
Cusco rear lower brace DONE
Maybe a Big Brake Kit at a later date maybe Spoon with a 3mm spacer?
Maybe T1R half shaft spacers if the CV joints start going

Alloys
Looking for a dramatic unsprung weight loss as well as more tyre width here.
17" Volks refinished in Smoked Chrome CE28N's (Front-17x7.5 ET+50, Rear-17x9.0 ET+63) & Goodyear F1 GSD3 (Front-225/45ZR17, Rear-255/40ZR17)
Plus Rays Duranut locking wheel nuts for weight loss DONE

Interior
Stainless 530gm counter sunk gear knob DONE
OEM 4 piece red mats DONE
TomTom1 V2 window mount, vent is too flimsy, always on display, I'd lose the vent and it is in the way of controls! DONE
Bell 990i Radar & laser detector near mirror DONE
AEM wideband sensor in header (A pillar mounted) DONE
SPA Dual Digital Oil Pressure and Temp monitor (A pillar mounted) DONE
Roof down on the move DONE
Disconnect seat belt reminder ing noise! DONE
Disconnect keys in ignition beep DONE
Modifry electronic seat belt locks on both sides DONE
Heated seats
BYS low seat rail
DIY Modifry toe savers to save cooking my feet in the winter! DONE

ICE
Alpine IDA-X001 head unit for the Ipod & USB interface DONE
Modifry Dash interface for all the extra functions including moving roof down mod DONE
60GB Ipod for the 8k songs I've ripped to MP3 in Honda wallet storage behind seats. Had it in the cover of the glove box but the cable got in the way every time I went to close it DONE
Genesis ProfileFour Amp maybe in place of the spare. Didn't want is high up and might want to keep the spare. It won't go under the seat so it is going behind the seat. DONE
JL Audio VR650-CS 6.5" component fronts in the stock positions mounted in Autoleads SA-006 universal spacers, with loads of Dynamat DONE
Got some more JL Audio's for my custom roll hoop speaker enclosures

So I'm going to use this thread as a bit of a diary/blog style thing.

So it starts!

I went to System - R (TDi North) today and got a base dyno run done before I start all the changes.

244 bhp @ 8.37k rpm
188 whp @ 8.37k rpm
158 lbft @ 6.48k rpm

I'll post up the graph later when I get it scanned! Edit here you go! Click to enlarge!

13/12/06 - Booked her back into System - R for 15th to get the brake hose, RBF600 fluid and SC pulley fitted

Right decided on the wheels, the Volks are staying. Not sure whether to go gloss black with a polished lip.

Something like this;

Or go to Silver the well proven safe route

Made some good progress today

Got all the cabling in the engine bay sorted and started to run it up to the A pillar gauge pod.

Cleaned and silicon sprayed the drive shaft and steering rack boots
Installed the upgraded Nitrons - 2 way adjustables with locking rings for ride height adjusters and 350 lb springs all round.

You can just see the Amuse in this one!

My trick to getting the passenger rear coilover on with out taking the fuel filler pipe out!

I've not set the heights properly yet. I just wanted to get some weight on them to allow them to settle before next weekend. They are currently 655mm front and 645mm rear (ground to top of wheel arch) Stock is 665mm all round for +04 cars.

Messed around putting the three different sets of wheels on to look at them, also weighed them.

I also sorted the rear number plate gravel trap!

Completed the mechanical install of the super charger, just need to do the electrical bits!

Winter/Future Upgrades

10 or 12 psi pulley & belt as I don't want to do the head gasket, just doing a deal on a 3.625" pulley, I reckon that will get me around 10 psi?
RC750 Injectors and clips
Plugs? (copper or Iridium one step colder) not sure which to get just yet UK availabilty isn't as good as US.

Ricks Pulley Set (is there any real benefit to these?)
Ricks Header as it's a good Mugen copy
Berk T1R decat pipe with extra O2 port for my wide band

AEM 1012U EMS
AEM 19in1 Serial Gauge (fuel pressure, intake pressure & temp)

Modifry Coolant Temp mod
Koyo radiator with OEM modified OEM fans
Baffled sump (DIY) and relocate blower oil return
Hardtopguys Clutch package

Mase tune next time he is in the UK

For much later!
14 psi pulley
3mm HG
3.5 bar MAP sensor
Head & Inlet Work
Port, valves, springs, retainers & cams?
From Puma Racing in the UK or Alaniz in the US

Car

I think you have a psychological problem, Mike - a chronic need for a different S2000 every 3-4 months
